WINFIELD — Central Christian College’s men’s soccer team came out of a physical battle with Southwestern with more than a 2-0 victory Wednesday night.
“We came out of this game with a win, two busted ankles, a punched-out tooth and stitches. My favorite,” CCC coach Aaron Hoxie said. “Other than that, we did enough to win, especially missing three players. The guys on the field outworked and outplayed them.”
Ronnie Rocha and Grant Rardon scored for the Tigers, with both assists going to Kasey Sidor.
Central has won two straight and is now 5-3-1 — four of the wins coming against KCAC schools — heading into a 4:30 p.m. home game Saturday against York.
SOUTHWESTERN WOMEN 7, CENTRAL 2 — Much-improved Southwestern led 3-1 at the half and tacked on four more goals in the second half.
Krystina Powell and Kimberly Rodrigeuz scored for CCC, with Powell coming up with an assist.
CCC is now 1-8 and hosts York at 2 p.m. Saturday.
