I am saddened by the killings of the U.S. ambassador to Lybia, embassy workers and others over the Islam film produced in the U.S.A. that states Islam is a violent religion. The video has tens of thousands of protesters angry in Pakistan, according to State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland. (Associated Press)
I am also saddened that in our country there is such a lack of outrage over what is being done to our religious freedoms. The attack of any show of Christian symbols and actions should have Christians in the streets in protest. Where is the denouncement in the pulpits? Where is the call to action? What is happening to the sanctity of human life, religious freedoms and protection of conscience freedoms?
One thing Christians can do is vote in the upcoming elections. Another is to join one of the life chains being conducted across our country and Canada on Sunday.
A Life Chain will be in Lindsborg at Harrison and State Street and in McPherson at Elm and Kansas. Both will be start at 2 p.m.
Life Chain is a peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-life individuals standing for 60 to 90 minutes praying for our nation and for an end to abortion. It is a visual statement of solidarity by the Christian community to abortion kills children and that the church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception until natural death.
