Grace LWML met in the parish hall at 7 p.m. Sept. 18.
The meeting was called to order by president Sandy Bachofen. All members repeated The League Pledge for opening devotions. Roll call was answered by 10 members and one guest, Elsa Chaney.
Pastor Dumperth led the Bible study on “Jesus is for Soldiers, too,” taken from the August issue of the Lutheran Witness. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Lu read an invitation from St. John’s LWML for a soup and salad supper on at 6:30 pm. Sept. 25.
Committee Reports: Mission service, Lu reported she took seven health kits to the McPherson County Food Bank and treats to the McPherson Hospital for chemo patients. Ruth Ann Dick helped on the last Mission of Love workday.
New business: Sandy presented the Mission Projects for next year, carried. Sandy presented the budget, carried. After discussion a general consensus was to continue taking treats to the McPherson Hospital for chemo patients for this next year. Sandy reported that the fall workshop will be at Our Redeemer, Hutchinson on Oct. 20. Sandy announced that on March 23, 2013, Christ the King in Salina would have an “Evening of Laughter” with Jan Struck as the speaker. Peggy made a motion to add to Article V-Memorials. In the event of the death of an LWML member, a cash memorial of $20 will be given to the memorial fund at church, carried unanimously. Lu made a motion not to have desserts but just coffee after meetings. Peggy seconded. Motion failed. Adjourned with the Lord’s Prayer. Hostess for the evening was Sue T.
