HIGHLIGHTS McPherson police Officers, EMS personnel and firefighters responded at 4:17 p.m. Friday to a state-reportable, injury accident that occurred when a vehicle driven by Colton Terence Roland, 23, Wichita, pulled out into the intersection at North Main and Elizabeth, striking a vehicle driven by Donald E. Christensen, 76, McPherson. Christensen's vehicle was then struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Cupertino Banuelos, 51, McPherson. Roland was issued a citation for disobeying a traffic signal. A patient was transported to McPherson Hospital. Sheriff A deputy and a McPherson Police officer made contact with a vehicle at 1:51 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of South Centennial Drive. They arrested Ethan Viers, 23, Windom, on charges of a first-offense DUI and transporting an open container. He was released from the McPherson County Jail after posting $1,000 bond. Fire Firefighters, EMS personnel and officers responded at 7:52 p.m. Saturday to a possible garage fire at North High Drive and Hulse. It was found to be a chiminea in a garage.
