HIGHLIGHTS McPherson police An officer took a report at 9:05 p.m. Sunday of a possible identity theft from a 65-year-old McPherson female. The possible theft was discovered after the victim tried to purchase cold medicine in Walgreens, but was denied for purchasing the product too frequently, though she claimed the last time had been in August. The case is still under investigation. Fire Firefighters responded at 11:23 a.m. Monday to a report of smoke in the area of Roth Court. It was found to be from a controlled burn south of town. Area LINDSBORG — Officers and a deputy responded at 11:44 a.m. Monday to Smoky Valley High School to a report of an attempted aggravated battery that occurred off-campus and involved a female juvenile. No injuries were reported and the case remains under investigation.
