  • HIGHLIGHTS McPherson police Officers responded at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a disturbance in the 100 block of South Taft. They arrested Garland L. Williams, 50, McPherson, on charges of felony cruelty to animals, misdemeanor battery and domestic violence. He was released from the McPherson County Jail after posting a $3,000 bond. Sheriff A deputy and McPherson EMS personnel and firefighters responded at 6:11 a.m. Tuesday to a state-reportable, injury accident that occurred when a vehicle driven by Patricia Eagle, 55, Galva, attempted to pass another vehicle on 17th Avenue just north of Mohawk Road. In the process, Eagle ran a third vehicle driven by Dale Fishback, 58, rural McPherson, off the roadway. Eagle was issued a citation for passing on the left when it was unsafe.
