  • Georgia Jean Guggisberg, 72, of McPherson, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, while in the company of family members, at her home, in McPherson, Kansas.

  • Georgia Jean Guggisberg, 72, of McPherson, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, while in the company of family members, at her home, in McPherson, Kansas.
    Georgia was born on May 28, 1940, in Rosebud, S. D. a daughter of Madge Irene (Whiting) and Everett William Roubideaux.
    Georgia attended the McPherson grade schools and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson. She then attended Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson.
    She was a member of First United Methodist Church McPherson.
    Through the years, Georgia was a homemaker and worked for a local doctor as a secretary, and on Jan. 16, 1967, she started working for Farmers Alliance Insurance Company in the Policy Service Department. Through the years, she worked as a Pride Annalist Trainee, Supervised Personnel Line, Forms Coordinator, and retired on July 1, 2003 after more than 36 years as the supervisor over the Filing Department in which she started.
    Georgia Jean Roubideaux was united in marriage to Charles Edward Guggisberg on March 31, 1966 at the First Christian Church, McPherson.
    Surviving family members include her loving and devoted husband of more than 46 years, Charles Guggisberg, of McPherson,; her daughters, Dana Bagby and her husband Paul, of Tulsa, Okla., and Kandice Busby and her husband Brent, of McPherson; her brother Bob Roubideaux, of Hutchinson; her six grandchildren, Jeremy Myers and his wife Lena, of Tulsa, Okla., Andrew Myers and his wife Jenny, of Tulsa, Okla., Amber Conley and her husband Zach, of Tulsa, Okla., Summer Kennemer, of Tulsa, Okla., Ashley Busby, of McPherson, and Alyssia Busby, of McPherson; four great-granddaughters, Zoey Conley, Lexa Conley, Angelique Myers, and Joslyn Myers; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
    Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; brother Bill Roubideaux and sister Ina Roubideaux.
    Private family graveside service will be at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas, with Reverend H. Dick Reynolds, Jr. officiating.
    Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or Hospice Care of Kansas, and they can be sent in care of the Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home; 222 W. Euclid St., McPherson, KS 67460.
