Philip Dean Turner, 67, of Wichita and a formerly McPherson, passed away on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, while in the company of family members, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Philip was born in Wichita on Jan. 22, 1945, a son of the late June (LaMar) and Elbert Spencer Turner.
He graduated from McPherson High School in McPherson in 1963. He attended Kansas State University in Manhattan.
He was a former member of First United Methodist Church in McPherson. He was currently a member of College Hill United Methodist Church in Wichita.
He worked as a payroll supervisor at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita. He also worked as a private pilot for Cessna Finance Corporation in Raleigh, N.C. and worked at Beech Aircraft in Wichita.
He was married to Denise G. Ring on March 7, 1965, in Manhattan.
He is survived by a son, Jeffrey R. Turner, of Winfield; two daughters, Julienne M. Turner of Wichita, and Jennifer N. Bruce, (Corey), of McPherson; two brothers, Gary E., Turner (Suzie), of Shawnee Mission, and John R. Turner (Sandy), of Blue Springs, Mo.; five grandchildren, Joshua Turner, Kylie Williams, Oakley Williams, Cooper Bruce, Maylin Bruce; one great-grandson, Orlando Ibarra III; other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place. and there will be no visitation.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at First United Methodist Church in McPherson, with Reverend Mike Marion officiating.
Private inurnment of cremated remains will be at the McPherson Cemetery in McPherson at a later date.
