Bobby C. White, 66, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and formerly of McPherson, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at his home in Colorado.
Bobby was born on Dec. 22, 1945, in Ft. Smith, Ark., the son of Harry and Valera (Goering) White. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1963.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1964 to 1978 and served in the Vietnam War.
He worked at the McPherson County Sheriff Department until he moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., in 2000, where he continued to work for the El Paso County Security Department.
Bob’s hobbies included weight lifting, collecting firearms, going to the shooting range, and watching football while barbecuing with family and friends (GO RAIDERS!!). He also loved listening to a variety of music, and cooking for his kids, making the best chili ever. He loved taking drives along the countryside and enjoyed reading.
He had a fun and loving heart and put his family and friends first. He always had a new joke to tell, even though most of them were R rated!
Bobby is survived by: his son, Aaron White and wife, Wendy, of Colorado Springs, Colo,; daughters, Anne Carson and husband, Craig, Sara White, and Rebecca White, all of McPherson; step-son, Kenny Becker of McPherson; brother, Jeff White and wife, Mardell, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at First Mennonite Church, McPherson. Inurnment of the cremains with Military Honors will be in the McPherson Cemetery.
