The McPherson Advantage Junior Tennis Club was recognized by the Kansas District Tennis Association during it’s annual meeting Sunday.
The McPherson Advantage Junior Tennis Club was recognized by the Kansas District Tennis Association during it’s annual meeting Sunday. Athletes Ellea Ediger and Kristen Reith and club organizer Janie Bremeyer were recognized with a record four awards total during the meeting. Ediger was recognized with a junior sportsmanship award in the 14 and younger girls category and also was the recipient of the Missouri Valley Sectional sportsmanship award, also for girls 14 and younger. She will receive in December during the section meeting in Kansas City. Reith was honored with the Community Volunteer Excellence Award and Bremeyer was recognized twice. First was the Outstanding Contributor to USTA Tennis Youth award, while the second was for the 10 and younger Tennis Provider. The McPherson Junior Advantage is a youth program designed to give children between the ages of 4-18 the opportunity to receive either group or private instruction, compete in tournament play and team tennis events regardless of ability levels. The program runs from the end of May through August.
