BPU indicated Monday it wishes to sign a long-term water contract with the city of Windom.
Tim Maier, general manager for the McPherson Board of Public Utilities, told the McPherson City Commission Monday
Windom has had a water contract with McPherson since 1966.
McPherson supplies wholesale water to Windom through a pipe that runs from the airport to Windom.
Maier said the city of Windom does not intend to replace that line and wished for a firm contract for the long term.
Windom is a small water user, using about 40-45 gallons per minute, Maier said.
