The McPherson Middle School basketball squads faced off with Salina Lakewood Monday, with the girls going 0-2 on the day, while the boys went 1-1. The A Team girls fell to Lakewood 27-14 Monday. Leading the scoring for MMS was Kamryn Collins with seven points, while Sydney Ruder added four, and Emma Yowell had three. The B Team had a close game, but fell 13-12. Rachel Dossett was the leading scorer with five points, followed by Megan Bennett with four. The boys A Team had a rough go of it, falling 48-29 to Lakewood. Chris Kirchner and Brock Malm both had 10 points for the Bullpups, followed by Sam Wingert with five. Casen Hoover and Raine Reitsma each added two. In the B Team tilt, MMS fell 30-28. Andric McGill had 10 points, followed closely by Paxton Leaf with nine. Trey Hett and Reitsma each added four points for the Bullpups, while Tyler Wheat chipped in with one point. The A Team falls to 0-2 on the year. The B Team is 1-1.
