  • The Central Christian College men’s basketball team remained undefeated after a win Tuesday night over Bethel, but it was close. The Tigers, up by 16 at one point the second half, backed off the accelerator and allowed the Threshers (1-6) back into the ball game late in the period before pulling out the 73-68 win. “We really aren’t finishing games the way we should,” Central coach Tony Romero said. “We’ve gotten a big lead in every game we’ve played, but we get a little complacent.” Rebounds also had Romero had concerned, as a Thresher team looking for only it’s second win of the season out-rebounded the Tigers 42-39 for the game. “I’m not happy with the defense down stretch and I’m not happy with the offensive effort down the stretch,” Romero said. “We’ve got to do a better job of getting ahold of the ball.” Chris Jones led all scorers with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Kaelon Gary and Jeff Jackson both added 11 points for the Tigers, while Aaron Cannon picked up a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
