The McPherson High School Booster Club has something to be thankful for this holiday, as a recent fundraiser with Midway Motors brought in almost $6,000 for MHS athletes and band members.
Keith Jost, MHS Booster Club member, headed up the Drive One 4 UR School event this year, which allowed patrons to test drive a car and, for each test drive, Ford Motors donated $20 to the school.
Jost said half automatically goes to MHS.
“The other half is held until sports organizations from the high school requisition it and it’s either approved or denied,” Jost said. “We do that accordingly to help out athletes with sports that are underfunded.”
This is the second year the booster club has participated in the program, which is done once in the spring and then again just before school starts in the fall.
“It’s our way of helping our athletes and band from the high school be the best that they can with the funds they’re able to get,” Yost said. “We’re really appreciative of Ford and Midway Motors for doing this.”
