The Bethany College/Lindsborg Community Orchestra will perform at 4 p.m. Dec. 9 in Presser Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. The orchestra, conducted by Richard Koshgarian, will perform von Weber's “Overture to ‘Der Freischutz,’" Beethoven's “Symphony No. 8 in F Major” and Christmas and holiday selections by Mannheim Steamroller. The Chamber Strings, under the direction of Professor Ann Samuelson, will perform Mendelssohn’s “Octet for Strings, Opus 20” The Bethany College/Lindsborg Community Orchestra is a full symphonic orchestra comprised of students and community members. This group performs four full concerts each year. Many of the orchestra members also perform during the annual Messiah Festival of the Arts. Bethany College, established by Swedish Lutheran immigrants in 1881, is a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
