  • The Bethany Swedes wrapped up their non-conference schedule at home against Oklahoma Wesleyan University Monday night, falling to the Eagles 72-61. It was a fairly evenly matched game, with the Swedes only trailing 34-28 at the half. However, Oklahoma Wesleyan managed to shoot 53.1 percent from the floor and 50 percent from behind the arc on the game. Bethany’s shooting was put on ice, as the Swedes shot 37.7 percent from the field and 13.3 percent from distance on the game. The Eagles’ Nichole Tate led all scorers with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Also scoring double digits for OKWU was Megan Jones with 15 points, Courtney Backward put up 11 points and Caitlin Linihan recorded 14. Three Swedes were in double digits, with Tanya Garner leading the way with 16. Nicole Felker and Tasha Wagoner both added 12 points for Bethany. The Swedes (1-7) are next in action Thursday night as they host McPherson to open up KCAC play.
