  • Eileen Vlamis has signed a letter of intent to play softball and volleyball at Bethany College for the 2013-2014 academic year.
    Vlamis comes to Bethany from Wichita High School East, where she played volleyball, softball, and basketball. Vlamis played volleyball as a setter all four years. For volleyball, Vlamis earned All City Second-Team Setter in 2012.
    Vlamis played softball as a catcher and third baseman in 2010, 2011, 2012, and plans to play in 2013. During the 2010 and 2012 season, she started as a catcher. She earned All City Softball Honorable Mention Catcher during the 2012 season.
    "We are happy to have Eileen as a Swede next fall,”  volleyball coach Nathalea Stephenson said. “She brings a lot of volleyball experience and a passion for the game.”
    Vlamis is the daughter of Ted J. and Karen Vlamis. She plans to major in secondary education and math.
