On Nov. 13, fourth -grade students at Eisenhower had a Veterans Day program to honor local veterans. The fourth-grade students chose topics relating to veterans, the Armed Forces, the VA Hospital, and why Veteran's Day is celebrated. They also wrote reports and created posters relating to their topic, which they presented before the school body and some local veterans. After their presentations, they honored veterans for their service. Chad Kibler, head custodian at Eisenhower, was honored with a gift from staff for his service. Following the presentation, five veterans met with the fourth graders to discuss their experiences in the armed forces. They were: Tony Fiedler, U.S. Army, 101st Airborne, Vietnam 1970-1971; Dick Janousek, U.S. Army, 178th Assault Support Chinook, Helicopter Co., Vietnam 1967-1968; Roy Wash, USN, VC 35 Airborne Squadron, USS Oriskany 1951-1954; Jim Scott SSGT, USMC, 3rd. Bn 27th. Marines, Vietnam 1968-1969; Rich Blubaugh, USN, River Assault Division 15, Vietnam 1969-1970. Other veterans who were recognized include: Jenny Smith, Army Reserves, 388th Med Btln. 2002 to 2006; Jack Lingle, USN, 439th Engineer Corps, 1941-1945; Chad Kibler, USMC, 1992-2000, Two Westpac Deployments with the 11th MEU to the gulf, Cryptologic Technician, Intelligence Analyst; Tina Golden, USN and served 1999-2003.
