The old-fashioned red and green McPherson trolley will see another year of service as riders enjoy a tour of different Christmas displays in the yards of McPherson residents.
The Trolley Tours, beginning in 2008, were designed to help promote the community of McPherson during the Christmas season. Passengers can expect a laid-back ride through the city of McPherson while enjoying Christmas music as it plays overhead. Some passengers may even get a visit from Santa.
“It’s like Christmas on wheels,” said Anne Hassler, director of the McPherson Convention & Visitors Bureau.
This year is the second that people can purchase tickets in advance, and those tickets can be purchased at the CVB.
Tickets are $5 per person. The tours take place at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Dec. 6, Dec. 13 and Dec. 19 to 21. The tour starts at the McPherson Opera House, and each tour lasts about 45 minutes.
The trolley also is open to private rentals.
