During the month of November, the students at St. Joseph Catholic School collected items that have been given to the McPherson County Food Bank. The third- grade class and its teacher, Judy Becker, gathered the food items weekly from the classrooms as a stewardship project. They displayed the food items on the parish food altar. They also tabulated the totals given by class and studied the data and graphed the results. They made posters to hang up to encourage the students to bring food for the Food Bank. At the end of the month, they helped to load all 360 items into a parishioner’s car so they could be delivered to the food bank. Through this counting project. the third-graders have learned the true meaning of counting their blessings.
