The CCC men's basketball team played its third and final exhibition game on Saturday on the road at Drury University, falling to the Panthers 98-50. The Tigers, playing their third game of the week, trailed the Panthers 42-20 at the end of the first half. In the second half, both teams' offenses were sharper than they were in the first half. The Tigers scored 30 points in the second frame, while the Panthers scored 56. The Tigers were led in scoring by Christopher Jones and Kris Quan, who both had 16 points in the losing cause and were the only Tigers in double figures on the afternoon. Jones scored his 16 points on 4 of 9 shooting from the floor and 8 of 11 from the charity stripe. Jones also had a big night on the glass with three offensive and seven defensive rebounds. Quant once again found his shooting stroke knocking down 4 of 7 three pointers. He was also a perfect 4 of 4 from the free throw line. The exhibition game doesn’t count against Central’s win-loss record, and the Tigers will take their perfect 9-0 record into Manhattan Christian College at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Tigers and Crusaders met earlier last month with the Tigers winning by 19, 76-57. Central — Miller 2, S. Brooks 7, Cannon 2, Jones 16, Quant 16, Rojas 3, Stuckey 4. Drury — Patterson 6, Lockhart 10, Carter 10, Simniok 14, Hall 22, Buie 4, Adams 12, Daniels 12, Gabiel 3, Fisher 3, Jenkins 2.
