Children’s author and illustrator Brad Sneed will share his artwork and stories from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 at The Well, 101 N. Main, in McPherson.
Sneed was raised on a family farm in Newton, and uses animals and other farm equipment as inspiration for his drawings and artwork. While pursuing an art degree at the University of Kansas, Sneed decided to focus on illustrations for children’s literature. He enjoyed the process and creative freedom that drawing and illustrating for children provided. Since his first book, “Grandpa’s Song”, he has written or illustrated nearly 20 award-winning books including “The Bravest of Us All,” “Aesop’s Fables,” “The Boy Who Was Raised by Librarians” and “The Big Bad Wolves at School.” A holiday book, “Twas the Mouse Who Saved Christmas,” can be personalized for young readers.
The program is presented by the Sunflower Reading Council, a local council of the Kansas Reading Association. Refreshments and door prizes will be included in the event. All ages are welcome at the free presentation.
