  • The McPherson Middle School girls’ basketball team split with Emporia Middle School in the last action the Bullpups will see before the holiday break.
In the A Team game, MMS won 23-21 after Emma Yowell made a stunning buzzer shot as time expired. This was a revenge game, of sorts, as the Bullpups lost by 20 points to Emporia in the first meeting between the two teams.
Yowell had 13 points in the win, followed by Kamryn Collins and Morgan Howard, both with four points. Emma Ellet had two in the win, which moved McPherson to 7-2 on the season.
In the B Team game, the Pups lost 27-9. Megan Bennett, Jordan Bruner, Gracy Feil and Yanet Cenenas all had two points for MMS. Wendi Koehn added one.
The B Team falls to 3-6 on the year.
