National media victimize children of Newtown tragedy through interviews.
I was shocked and saddened to hear about the awful tragedy in Newton, Conn., Friday. I was sickened to hear that children who were caught in this horrible tragedy were interviewed after the shooting.
I have had to do some things in my journalistic career that have turned my stomach. I have seen things that keep me up at night. However, never in my wildest dreams would I consider interviewing the child victim of a mass shooting hours after it happened.
There has to be a line. There has to be some respect for victims' mental health.
I urge you to not watch any such report on television or on the Internet. Turn the technology off. Do not give your attention to these predators who are sullying my profession.
