  • The Central Christian College men dropped their second straight game Saturday after starting the season 10-0, falling to Friends University 67-54.
The Tigers and the Falcons went back and forth throughout the first half, but Friends pulled away from Central after switching to a man-to-man defense about halfway though the half. The Falcons led 37-27 at the break.
The Tigers continued their struggles in the second half, making only seven field goals, three of which were from three point range. Friends went up by as much as 20 points in the second half, but Central Christian made a run late in the period to close the gap to 67-54.
Christopher Jones led all scorers with 17 points, nabbing a double double in the process with 11 rebounds. Kris Quant added 11 points in the loss.
“Friends is a good team,” Central coach Tony Romero said. “We were out-executed all day This is definitely not how we wanted to end the semester, but I know our guys will regroup and respond as we head into conference.”
Central is off now until Jan. 5.
