McPherson County Commissioners approved a request by Public Works Director Tom Maier for steel beams from Salina Steel during its meeting Tuesday.
The beams will be used for bridge repair — one for a steel beam bridge on Smoky Valley Road, and the other near Arapaho Road to the south of the county.
The budget approved for the steel is $1,397.
Kramer said repairs should not inhibit traffic across the bridges.
