    NATCHITOCHES — Northwestern State University of Louisiana awarded degrees to 849 students Friday at fall commencement exercises in Prather Coliseum. Paul Rainwater, chief of staff for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, was the commencement speaker. Among them was Jordan James, McPherson, bachelor of science degree.
    Teri Rae Chaney
    LINCOLN, Neb. — Teri Rae Chaney of Lindsborg was among some 1,500 students from 34 states and 28 countries who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln at commencement exercises Dec. 14 and 15.
    Chaney received a master of arts degree from the Division of Graduate Studies.
    Chris. R. Calkins, professor of animal science at UNL, gave the address at the graduate degree ceremony on Dec. 14; Jeff Zeleny, the national political correspondent for the New York Times, gave the address at the baccalaureate ceremony on Dec. 15; and Judge Michael W. Pirtle of the Nebraska Court of Appeals gave the address at the law ceremony on Dec. 14.
