  • Chester Loyd Dryer of Big Cabin, Okla., passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. He was 78.

  • Chester Loyd Dryer of Big Cabin, Okla., passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. He was 78.
    Mr. Dryer was born Nov. 10, 1934, in Commerce, Okla., to Chester William and Dorothy May (Plummer) Dryer. He grew up in the Commerce area and moved to Liberal, Kan. He graduated from Commerce High School in 1953.
    He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Sue (Larkin) and his parents and a brother George David Dryer.
    Survivors include four daughters: Debra and husband Erich Olds of Wellston, Okla., Jerri and husband Rocky Spears of Enid, Okla., LaRita Dryer of McPherson, Kan., Stacy and husband Michael Johnson of Sherman, Texas, sister Lois and husband Rod Arnall of Miami, Okla., 16 grandchildren, 28 greatg-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Okla. Rev. Jerry VonMoss will officiate. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
    The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Okla. Online condolences may be made at www.paulthmasfuneralhomes.com.
