T. Dale Luke, 69, passed away Dec. 21, 2012, after a lengthy and courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Dale was born June 18, 1943, to E. E. and Crystal Luke in Tulia, Texas. Dale grew up in Amarillo, Texas, graduating from Amarillo High School in 1961. He began his career with Farmland Industries in Amarillo moving to Denver in 1971 as assistant manager of warehousing and transportation. As his career advanced he held various managerial positions in Des Moines, Iowa, Kansas City, Mo., and McPherson, Kan. He retired in 2005 moving to Grand Lake of the Cherokees in N. E. Oklahoma.
Dale was a well-loved member of The Coves community on Bird Island serving on the Men's Golf Association Board since 2007. He was an active member of Church on the Lake serving on their board and preparing their budgets for the past several years. Dale was a member of the Optimist Club while in McPherson. He loved basketball and enjoyed in recent years supporting his 4 youngest grandchildren in their basketball endeavors. He loved football and was perhaps one of the Dallas Cowboys most loyal and dedicated fans. They were his team win or lose. He was passionate in his role as husband, dad, and papa, always there for his wife, kids, and grandkids. He will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by one son, Scott Alexander, his parents, E. E. and Crystal Luke and brother, Dwane Luke.
Survived by his wife Barbara, son Mark Alexander and wife Susan, daughters Kristy Lewis and husband Craig, Maria McGoldrick and husband Brian, Terri Thiessen and husband Chad as well as 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life and memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan 5, 2013, at Church on the Lake, 1.5 miles East of Ketchum, Oklahoma on Hwy 85.
