City commissioners increased a number of cemetery fees during their meeting on Monday. The increases come as part of the adjustment of fees and costs of the city for the coming year.
Changes include the fee for a new site increasing from $400 to $450, a used site increased from $300 to $350 and the fee for cemetery staff to open and close a site increased from $350 to $400.
Randy Pauls, cemetery sexton, said the increases aim to make them more parallel with other cities similar in size to McPherson.
In other business:
• Commissioners approved a budget of $6,040.42 for the McPherson Fire Department for hydrant repairs for the year.
• Commissioners approved a budget change to the Municipal Golf Course from $523,800 to $586,319. The change comes after the implementation of a point of sale system, where an independently run pro shop was brought into the state. Ten percent of sales from the shop go toward the city, with 90 percent to the owner.
• Commissioners added to the city responsibilities of the McPherson Water Park the need to maintain and change filters on the HVAC unit, and to properly take care of the ice machine during summer and winter, including the installation of new filters each year.
