The Western Kansas Sheep Producer’s Meeting sponsored by Hodgeman County and Kiowa County Kansas State University Research and Extension Offices will be held Wednesday, January 30th, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the evening. The meeting will be held at the Hodgeman County Fairgrounds in Jetmore, Kansas. Presentations will include an Artificial Insemination demonstration by Dodge City Veterinary Clinic. A Pfizer representative will cover synchronizations tools and techniques for sheep. A representative from Osborne Industries will be on hand to facilitate a discussion about automated equipment and the needs for the equipment in the sheep industry. Dr. Justin Waggoner, Southwest Kansas Area Beef Systems Specialist, will moderate a discussion on nutrition topics for sheep and lamb producers. Dr. Brian Faris, KSU Sheep Specialist, will moderate a discussion on the state of the sheep industry. Superior Farms of Dixon, California  and producers will be sponsoring dinner.
