At 9:17 p.m. Wednesday, officers and EMS personnel responded to an unattended death in the 400 block of North Olivette. Found deceased was a 94 year old McPherson male, discovered by his cousin. The death was determined to be due to natural causes.
At 2:02 a.m. Wednesday, deputies, EMS personnel, and firefighters responded to a possible vehicle fire at I-135 southbound at the 58 mile marker. Found was a vehicle in a ditch kicking up snow; no fire was found. Deputies proceeded to arrest Cody Raymond Harris, 19, of Salina on charges of D.U.I. first offense and minor in consumption. Harris was released after posting a $1,500 total bond.

At 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, deputies, officers, a Marquette officer, and a Lindsborg officer arrested Jason Allen Weltzin of Marquette at his residence of 615 Sioux. Weltzin was arrested on charges of criminal damage to property, domestic battery and aggravated criminal threats. Weltzin was reported to have been threatening to kill his wife with a shotgun and revolver in his possession. No shots were fired, and Weltzin was arrested without incident. Weltzin was held pending a total $11,000 bond.
