The McPherson Chamber of Commerce and Hutchinson Community College is offering classes three classes/tracks in the community during the next several months. Each track is eligible for one hour college credit.
Beginner excel: an electronic spreadsheet program whose options for manipulating numbers have made it the most popular spreadsheet program. Classes are from 3 to 5 p.m. on Jan. 17 (getting started), Jan. 24 (formatting a worksheet), Jan. 31 (charts), Feb. 7 (formulas), Feb. 14 (managing data), Feb. 21 (using tables), Feb. 28 (finding and filtering data), and March 7 (extracting data). Cost is $28 for Chamber members and $38 for non-members per session.
Advanced excel: advanced usage of software. Classes are from 11 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. on March 15 (formulas), March 22 (functions), April 5 (analyzing data using formulas), April 12 (creating functional charts), April 19 (managing data using tables), April 26 (automating worksheet tasks), May 3 (using goals seek and what if analysis) and May 17 (analyzing data with pivot tables and charts). Lunch will be provided. Cost is $35 for Chamber members and $45 for non-members per session.
Microsoft publisher: a desktop publishing tool that can be used to design office documents, labels, postcards, flyers, calendars and programs. Classes will be from 11 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. Jan. 18 (flyers and posters), Jan. 25 (business cards, postcards, invitations), Feb. 1 (brochures and menus), Feb. 8 (calendars and itineraries), Feb. 15 (employment application, questionnaires, subscription forms), Feb. 22 (newsletters), March 1 (merged sales letter, name tags, certificates) and March 8 (Web pages). Cost is $35 for Chamber members and $45 for non-members per session.
