What Knackies, a barbecue deli and bakery based out of Inman, will host a grand opening of a McPherson branch
When 10 a.m. Jan. 23.
Where 111 S. Maple, McPherson
Hours The Knackies of McPherson, after it’s grand opening, will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. The deli will otherwise be closed on Wednesday nights and Sundays.
The business is owned by Steve and Kay Knackstedt of Inman, with the assistance of their three sons. Starting out of home in 1990, Kay Knackstedt said the family took on orders for baked goods and homemade deli. With increased demands for their goods, the Knackstedts opened up their first deli in Inman in 1999, and has been growing since. Still, Knackstedt says the deli sticks to its out-of-home roots.
“We try to do as much homemade as possible,” said Knackstedt.
Knackies uses its own homemade barbecue sauce for its sandwiches and still sells a variety of homemade baked goods, including cookies and cinnamon rolls. They also provide catering for private parties, and host an all-you can-eat buffet from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.
When asked what brings them to McPherson, Knackstedt said her family felt the Lord was simply leading them here. Knackstedt also expressed thanks for the support of McPherson.
“McPherson’s a great community, and we’re glad of the support we’re receiving from the community,” Knackstedt said.
