The McPherson Middle School basketball teams went 3-1 Tuesday against Salina Lakewood as they returned to action for the first time in 2013.
Lakewood took the A Team boys game 63-52. Brock Malm and Caleb Spaich came up huge for MMS, scoring 19 and 18 points, respectively.
In the B team match up, McPherson won 47-43. Paxton Leaf scored 15 points, while Andric McGill had 12 in the win.
On the girls side, the Bullpups swept Lakewood, taking the A Team game 32-21 and winning 23-13 in the B Team game.
Emma Yowell dropped 17 points for MMS in the A Team game, helping to avenge a 13 point loss earlier in the season.
Megan Bennett was the leading score for the B Team with six points, followed by Rachel Dossett’s five. McPherson had lost by one previously.
