As the Sentinel continues to expand its online services, adjustments will be made in the online metering structure beginning Jan. 28.
Readers will be able to access eight news items on the McPherson website for free per every 30-day period.
“Newspapers provide a valuable service to the community, and the cost of providing that service continues to increase,” GateHouse corporate said in a news release. “Just like our readers pay for our printed newspaper to help subsidize the cost of producing the content, we’re asking our digital users to also subscribe to this service. We’ve done our best to offer some flexibility in subscribing. As a result, we’ve opted for a ‘metered’ approach, in which case users will receive eight stories for free every 30-days.”
A digital subscription gives you unlimited access to all content on www.mcphersonsentinel.com and the e-edition, which offers an electronic view of the Sentinel’s print pages.
Those who already subscribe to our print newspaper will receive the digital access as part of their paid subscription at no additional charge.
Look for unique content on the Sentinel website, including breaking news, photo galleries, local and national blogs, videos, up-to-minute weather, daily recipes, polls, event of the day and our ag minute feature.
Also sign up as a commenter on the site and voice your opinion on the news of the day.
Look for a new feature starting this week called Seen on Scene. We are looking to include more of our community members faces on our website, so you may be asked at an event or at a game to pose for a photograph that will be posted online.
More information on how to subscribe to the online edition will be posted on the Sentinel’s website at www.mcphersonsentinel.com.
