  • Poor first half shooting doomed the Central Christian College women Saturday against Haskell Indian Nations University, falling to the Indians 61-40.
The Indians took a 33-14 lead into the locker room at the half, but Central came back out fighting in the second half to make a game of it, but the halftime deficit proved just too much to overcome by the final buzzer.
“The girls are working really hard and are starting to improve,” Central head coach Robert Lancaster said. “Unfortunately, we still encounter droughts offensively and we weren’t able to bounce back from a five minute run that got us behind at half.”
The Tigers shot only 13-of-52 from the field in the game and sunk only one three pointer in 13 attempts.
Brooke Rhodes had a double double, her seventh of the season, with 21 points and 12 rebounds.
    Central is 3-12 (0-2 MCAC) on the season. They face York College this evening at 5:30 p.m. Central — Pate 1-3 1-2 3; Regier 2-12 1-1 5; Rhodes 6-19 8-11 21; Cyr 0-1 1-2 1; Johnson 1-1 0-0 2; Powell 3-7 2-2 8.
