A pair of Central Christian men’s basketball players have broken records recently, putting them in elite company.
Tigers’ senior center, Chris Jones, has added another record to his impressive resume’, as the two time All-American has become CCC’s career leader in rebounds.
Jones, who already owns the Tigers’ single game rebounding record with 20, set the new career mark earlier this season. The previous career rebound record was 682 held by Jeremiah Wright who played for the Tigers from 2003-2005.
Jones eclipsed Wright’s record with his 10th rebound against Ozark Christian College back on Dec. 8.
To date, Jones has 728 career rebounds and has 14 regular season games still to play.
Jones is a senior from Edmond, Okla. He is on pace to graduate this May with a degree in Communications.
CCC senior guard, Kaelon Gary joined an elite fraternity of Tiger basketball players Friday against College of the Ozarks, as he scored 22 points, one more than was necessary to eclipse the 1,000 point mark for his Tiger career.
Gary has proven himself to be a prolific scorer both from inside the paint, and also from behind the 3 point arc.
While Gary was on pace to break the milestone sooner, had he not had to sit out games, he is the fourth player in as many years to reach this milestone. Gary joins Sean High, Don Gavin, and current teammate Christopher Jones.
Gary has 14 more regular season games to add to his career total.
Gary is a senior from Wichita. He is on pace to graduate in May with a degree in Sports Management, and plans to walk next December.
