Richard Henry Hinkson, 90, of McPherson, passed away at 12:25 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, peacefully, at McPherson Hospital.
Richard was born on April 19, 1922, in Sylvan Grove, a son of Mildred (Murphy) and Fred S. Hinkson.
Richard graduated from Bethany College, Lindsborg, and had graduate degrees from Emporia State University, Emporia, Fort Hays State University, Hays, and the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colo.
Richard was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church McPherson.
He honorably served in the Army Air Corps throughout World War II.
Richard H. Hinkson was an educator for almost 40 years in the public schools of Kansas, 30 of which were spent in the public schools of Barton County. He was employed by the Claflin Public Schools for 11 years and by the Great Bend Public Schools for 20 years.
He is survived by cousins.
Private burial took place in the Lincoln Cemetery Lincoln.
