  • The Central Christian men snapped a two-game losing streak with an 86-78 comeback win over Southwestern Christian University Tuesday night in MCAC action.
    The Tigers trailed 48-39 after the first half, coming out a little flat for their fifth game on the road in the past 11 days.
    The second half started the way the first half ended, with Central Christian going down as much as 16 before Chris Jones and Mike Lyons began to catch fire, finishing with 26 and 16 points, respectively at the Tigers fought back to win.
    “I am really proud our group tonight,” Central coach Tony Romero said. “I thought we showed a lot of character battling through a large deficit and adversity on the road. I feel like our team grew up a lot tonight.”
    Kris Quand and Jeff Jackson had 12 points for Central christian, while Kaelon Gary added 10.
    “We shared the ball really well and got great production from our bench,” Romero said.
    Southwestern was led by Tyler Averill’s 24 points, while Clint ambery and Reggie Sloan both added 15, each. Tyler Inman had 12.
    Central has two home games Friday and Saturday. Friday’s game with Oklahoma Wesleyan at 7:30 p.m., while the Tigers host Central Baptist Saturday at 5 p.m.
