Hutton Construction, a leading commercial construction company based in Wichita has purchased King Enterprise Group, a commercial firm specializing in heavy industrial civil construction primarily for the oil and gas industry in McPherson.
“King Enterprise Group has been a growing force for a number of years,” said Ben Hutton, president of Hutton Construction. “This acquisition positions Hutton Construction to further strengthen our presence in the industrial construction marketplace.”
Past president Mike King led the company through remarkable growth to become one of the top companies in the state, having experienced a three-year growth of 199 percent. King now serves as the Kansas Secretary of Transportation.
King Enterprise Group was founded in 1980 and employs about 60 in the McPherson area. The group has become well known for its experience in site work, general contracting and industrial concrete. Hutton Construction and King Enterprise Group have a shared history, having teamed up on several construction projects in the past. Mike King also served as Hutton Construction’s vice president of business development for five years.
“Both companies share a focus on safety, team work and quality, so we see the transition being a very easy one,” said Hutton. “The opportunity to bring King Enterprise Group into the Hutton Construction family was very appealing, and we couldn’t be more excited.”
Hutton Construction was founded in 1992 and is a proven leader in commercial construction management and design/build delivery methods. Hutton has built a strong portfolio of work throughout Kansas and the Midwest.
