SEDGWICK — The Inman girls stunned Fairfield 48-41 in the Sedgwick Invitational Girls’ Tournament semifinals Thursday night, sending the Teutons into the championship game Saturday.
Inman jumped out to a 13-9 lead after the first quarter and held onto a five point advantage at the half.
Fairfield only managed to shake of their shock in the fourth quarter.
“They made a furious rally, hitting a couple of threes, but the girls hung tough and finished the game,” Inman coach Jeff Friesen said.
Kaitlynn Goalden led the Teutons with 18 points, while Abby Ropp and Naomi Williams both added 10, each.
Inman will face Hutchinson Trinity in the finals Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m.
Trinity advanced with an upset of No. 2 seeded Remington 44-37.
Little River 25
BROOKVILLE — The Little River girls fell to Lyons 40-25 in the consolation bracket of the Ell-Saline tournament Thursday.
The Lions jumped out to an early 12-7 lead after the first quarter and never really looked back, though the Redskins were never really out of the game until a poor shooting performance in the fourth quarter sealed the win for Lyons.
Skylar Johnston led the way for Little River with 11 points. Emily Baldwin had seven.
Brenna McClure had 12 points for Lyons in the win, while Alexis Lasater added 10.
