  • SEDGWICK — The Inman girls stunned Fairfield 48-41 in the Sedgwick Invitational Girls’ Tournament semifinals Thursday night, sending the Teutons into the championship game Saturday.
Inman jumped out to a 13-9 lead after the first quarter and held onto a five point advantage at the half.
Fairfield only managed to shake of their shock in the fourth quarter.
“They made a furious rally, hitting a couple of threes, but the girls hung tough and finished the game,” Inman coach Jeff Friesen said.
Kaitlynn Goalden led the Teutons with 18 points, while Abby Ropp and Naomi Williams both added 10, each.
Inman will face Hutchinson Trinity in the finals Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m.
Trinity advanced with an upset of No. 2 seeded Remington 44-37.
