  • The Central Christian College theater department will present its first production of 2013 — “Zap,” an interactive production that allows the audience to change the storyline of the play like they change the channel on their televisions at home.
Zap is a farce that operates under the assumption that modern audiences have a short attention span and like the ability to change the channel when they become bored with a certain story line. To combat this problem, director Chris Smith decided to stage seven plays instead of just one. Audiences members will be given remote controls and when the audience becomes bored with a play they can press a button to change the channel, when enough members have pressed the button, the play onstage will switch to one of the other six storylines.
The plays cover the whole gambit of styles in the theater and many of the actors play more than one part, which requires fast costume changes. “Zap” is a play that will keep audiences laughing and wondering what will happen next.
Be part of the action during any of the three productions, scheduled for 7 p.m. Jan. 31–Feb. 2 in Greer Auditorium on the Central Christian College campus.
