  • The MCAC’s top-ranked team played about how you would expect against the Central Christian College women Friday evening, as Oklahoma Wesleyan University defeated the Tigers handily 73-45.
The Eagles jumped out to a 31-18 halftime lead despite going only 28.2 percent from the field off 11-of-39 shooting.
Central wasn’t any better, however, making only 6-of-30 in the first frame of the game.
The Eagles shot marginally better in a 42-27 second half, going 15-of-40 to end the game with a 33 percent field goal percentage. Central finished shooting  25.9 percent.
“It’s hard to win games shooting 25 percent from the floor,” Central coach Robert Lancaster said.
OKWU’s Megan Jones led all scorers with 14 points, the only player to reach double digits in the game.
Brooke Rhodes led Central with seven points.
The Tigers are back on the court this afternoon at 3 p.m., as Central hosts Central Baptist.
