Mary M. Wells, 80, of Inman, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013. at Heartland Haven, rural Inman.
Margaret was born on July 15, 1932, in rural Deer Creek, Okla., a daughter of the late Evelyn Hope Nallore (Webster) and William Henry Currier.
She attended and graduated from Deer Creek High School, Deer Creek, Okla.
Margaret was a member of the First United Methodist Church in McPherson. She was a member of the Martha Circle of the church.
Through the years Margaret was a homemaker, was a secretary for the Logan school system; did bookkeeping for Carpenter Manor in Smith Center and Rush County Nursing Home in LaCrosse; and worked in the county treasurer's offices in Rooks and Sumner counties.
Margaret Currier was united in marriage to Robert Howard Wells on Dec. 24, 1950, in Rural Grant County, Okla. Robert died on May 14, 2003.
She is survived by her children: three sons Steve (Lana) Wells, of Springfield, Neb.; Jim (Celia) Wells, of Great Bend; and Jeff (Cindy) Wells, of Junction City; two daughters Lynn (Steve) Hilgers, of McPherson; and Lori (Ed) Feldkamp, of Manhattan, Kan.; three sisters Dorma Lou (Bill) Kindle, of Houston; Judy Currier, of Houston; and Donna (Lloyd) Garner, of Tonkawa, Okla.; two brothers Raymond (Sandy) Currier, of Ponca City, Okla.; and Thomas (Joyce) Currier, of Ponca City, Okla.; 10 grandchildren — Nikki, Travis, Trent, Taryn, Matt, Molly, Mike, Lacy, Kyle, Megan; nine great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a grandson, Trevor Wade Wells; and a brother, Robert E. Currier.
Friends are invited to call from 9 a.m. until service time Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson.
The funeral service will be at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson, at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, with Reverend Karen Rice Ratzlaff officiating.
The final resting place will be in McPherson Cemetery, McPherson.
