  • Carli Perez of Ulysses has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Bethany College for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Perez comes to Bethany from Ulysses High School, where she played volleyball as a setter for four years, earning All-League volleyball honors and was named to the All-League Academic Team.
She also played softball as a pitcher and second baseman for four years and played basketball her freshman year.
Perez was on the honor roll all four years of high school and was a member of the National Honor Society, HALO, Student Council, and FBLA.
"It is exciting to have Carli joining our program,” Bethany coach Nathalea Stephenson said. "She comes from a volleyball program that teaches all the right skills and one that is very competitive.”
As a setter, Stephenson is looking for great things from Perez as she joins the Swedes.
“She understands the game and, as a setter, you want someone that can run the offense and knows how to get the ball to the hitters,” she said. “It is going to be exciting to see her grow in her skills and abilities."
Perez is the daughter of Juan and Georjean Perez. She has a 3.83 GPA and plans to major in business administration.
