  • A strong first 10 minutes put the Lady Bulldogs up by double figures early against the University of Saint Mary, something they did not surrender for the remainder of the contest, winning 73-54.  
    The win moves Mac College to 14-10 on the season, tying Coach Rolfs’ highest win total in a season while coaching at McPherson.
    The Bulldogs held the lead from the very first basket, scoring the game’s first eight points. It took the Spires nearly four minutes before their first shot fell.  
    The Lady Bulldogs held a comfortable cushion for the majority of the period, letting Saint Mary get as close as seven points but leading by double figures for most of the first 20 minutes.  A 15-point advantage was McPherson’s at the halftime buzzer as they led 35-20.
     The second half began with MC increasing the score difference to 20-plus within the first minute.
     The lead for McPherson stayed in the 20-point range until an 8-0 run by the Lady Spires brought the score to 49-33 with 11 minutes to play.  The Bulldog lead stayed in the teens for the next part of the game but they never allowed USM closer than 16 points.
    As they shot the same percentage in both halves, Mac closed out the game hitting 26-of-62 from the floor. They went 7-of-17 from distance and 14-of-19 from the stripe.
    Cheyenne Eisenhour led the ‘Dogs in scoring and had a near double-double, scoring 11 points and pulling down nine rebounds.  Bailey Brown was second on the team with her 10 points.
    McPherson will next travel to Wichita to take on the Friends University Falcons. Game time for Thursday’s contest is scheduled for 6 p.m.
