McPherson Hospital announced it is undergoing renovations to the outer areas of the laboratory facilities on the main floor.
The changes are needed to improve convenience, safety and privacy for patients, and to solve accessibility issues. The current patient waiting room is across the hall from the lab. After the renovations, the waiting room and patient services areas will be in one location where the current laboratory exists.
To accommodate these changes, some lab services will be temporarily located near the patient waiting room. The existing Lloyd and Opal Miller Meditation Chapel will ultimately be relocated directly across the hall from its current location. A temporary location for the chapel is under consideration and will be marked with internal signage when a solution is found. The new chapel space will be equivalent in size to the current space.
It is anticipated the renovation will be complete around the first part of April. McPherson Hospital officials said they appreciate the public’s understanding while improvements are made to this important patient service area.
