  • The Central women were without the services of leading scorer Brooke Rhodes for the second straight game in an 82-54 loss to York College Tuesday night.
    Central managed to hang with the Panthers in the early moments of the first half, taking a two point lead at the 16:28 mark, but York fired back, taking a 45-29 advantage into the locker room at half.
    The Panthers had their lead up to 34 at 15:34 in the second half, but the Tigers were able to knock the lead down under 30 as the buzzer sounded to end the game.
    After shooting 11-of-21 in the first half, Central was only 9-for-33 in the second, finishing the game with shooting 37 percent from the field in the game. Central was 1-of-10 from three-point distance and 13-of-18 from the foul line.
    “We struggled tonight at times on the offensive and defensive ends of the court,” Central coach Robert Lancaster said. “Unfortunately, we couldn’t match York’s runs in the second half.”
    Ciara Alderson and Raven Void both had 10 points for Central. The Tigers fall to 3-21 on the year and 0-11 in MCAC play.
    The Tigers are back home Friday night against Waldorf College.
